Microsoft Word error or it can not be opened?
Here's an explanation
Perhaps you have experienced you retrieve data from Microsoft Word file, but data from Microsoft Word (2002, 2003, 2007, 2010) did not want to open or you cannot open the program at all.

If it really happens to you, you should not reinstall your Microsoft office,before you try this step. It may be a trick to correct the error Microsoft Word that can not be opened

Delete the registry key
To delete the Word Data registry key, follow these steps:

Close all programs office.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and press enter.
In the egistry editor window enter the code below: (select according to your MS Word version)
        Word 2002:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 10.0 \ Word \ Data
        Word 2003:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ Word \ Data
        Word 2007:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 12.0 \ Word \ Data
        Word 2010:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 14.0 \ Word \ Data
    Click Data, click the File menu and then click Export.
    Wddata.reg Give the file a name, and then save it on the desktop (File Wddata.reg is used to restore regedit that has been converted later).
    Click Delete on the Edit menu, and click Yes.
    Close the Registry Editor window.
    Open your Ms Word.

If Ms Word is already open and running normally, then the problem is resolved. But if not, or still error, return or restore registry keys that have been removed earlier by:

    Close all programs office.
    Double click on Wddata.reg on the desktop earlier.
    Click Yes, then click OK.


Delete the Word Options registry key
To delete the Word Options registry key, follow these steps:

    Close all programs office.
    Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and press enter.
    In the Registry Editor window enter: (select according to your MS Word version)
        Word 2002:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 10.0 \ Word \ Options
        Word 2003:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 11.0 \ Word \ Options
        Word 2007:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 12.0 \ Word \ Options
        Word 2010:
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 14.0 \ Word \ Options
    

Click Options, and then click Export on the File menu.
Wdoptn.reg Give the file a name and save it on the desktop.
 Click delete in the edit menu, and click Yes.
 Close the registry editor window.
 Open MS Word.

If Ms Word is already open and running normally, then the problem is solved. But if not, or still error, return or restore registry keys that have been removed earlier by:

Close all Office programs.
Wdoptn.reg double-click on the desktop.
Click Yes, then click OK.

Another step is to:
Rename the Normal.dot or Normal.dotm global template file
Delete the COM add-ins registry keys.
